Tooth Extraction Liverpool Street

Tooth Extraction: Cost, Procedure

Tooth extraction procedures, but better

  • Is your tooth severely damaged or fractured?
  • Have you experienced a failed root canal?
  • Persistent toothache that won’t go away?
  • Have too many teeth in your mouth, causing it to be crooked?
  • Is your tooth loose, heavily decayed or unstable?
  • No room for wisdom teeth?
In these instances, a tooth extraction will likely be recommended as your best next step. However, before we confirm this diagnosis, we will perform an assessment outlining any treatments that can save and preserve your natural tooth.

If having a tooth pulled is unavoidable, we can improve the experience if you’re a nervous patient with sedation options like gas and air and can offer advanced tooth replacement prosthetics like implants or bridges.

Scheduling your tooth extraction:

  • Procedure costs start from £185
  • Oral surgery available to remove extra teeth
  • Temporary and long-term solutions for gaps

Can we save your tooth from extraction?

There might be some instances where we can avoid a tooth extraction altogether. For example, common tooth-saving treatments like root canals by our in-house endodontists can eliminate infection and tooth pain and save your tooth. Costs for treatment start at £458.

Dental crowns can also provide additional strength to the tooth, acting like a protective cap on top of the tooth to take on the bite’s strength and function.

Ideal steps following tooth removal:

Suppose the reason for your tooth extraction is in conjunction with your orthodontic treatment. In that case, you’ll know that the next steps will involve you undergoing realignment with devices like Invisalign and fixed braces.

However, if you’ve had a tooth removed due to decay or gum disease and are left with a gap, the best next step will be to replace the tooth with an artificial prosthetic.

Ignoring gaps in the mouth can lead to tooth movement and bone loss and cause more teeth to fall out. Therefore, it’s better to use a device like an implant, which acts like an artificial tooth root, to close the gap, as this will be your best option for preserving bone.

Other missing tooth treatments, like dental bridges, can also close the gap if there are two neighbouring teeth on either side, but they do nothing to preserve the bone and will require the otherwise two healthy teeth to be filed down to be placed with crowns.

Replacing teeth after extraction

What will happen on the day - the procedure

  • Evaluation of the tooth’s position, root shape, and formation.
  • Discussion of your sedation options, particularly if anxiety is a concern.
  • Provision of support and relaxation gas for anxious patients.
  • Removal of the tooth and its root.
  • Placement of sutures over the socket.

Patients can anticipate some discomfort within an hour after the procedure. We provide post-procedure instructions to prevent infection and ensure a smooth healing process.

Any discomfort should subside by the next day, with patients usually reporting a speedy and easy recovery.

“I highly recommend this practice. I have a huge phobia of dentists, drills, injections, extractions, etc, and before I came to this practice, was told I was 9.5 out of 10 on the scale of patient anxiety! I have been coming to this practice for almost 15 years, and my level of anxiety has decreased massively in that time.” Sam, London

I've been seeing George for over 15 years. One of my best decisions. Teeth needed serious attention and were immediately "rescued". They have been maintained to an excellent level ever since. Fantastic treatment and continuing results.

American 🇺🇸 Pilot with a very busy schedule. Was in London of one of my many layovers summer 2023. Had not been to a dentist in sometime. Was in need of a deep scaling for oral hygiene and start pains of a Carrie. I’m one of those and for all work completed under N20 (Nitrous Oxide Gas) for seems to be only way. He was able to see me and complete this matter swiftly and professionally. Didn’t scare me out of the chair. Recommend this practice and would return on a layover.

I recently had the pleasure of visiting CapCityDental for a dental cleaning, and I must say, it was an exceptional experience from start to finish. As someone who prioritizes oral health, I've had my fair share of dental appointments, but this one truly stood out. From the moment I walked in, I felt welcomed and at ease, setting the tone for a fantastic dental cleaning session. The moment I stepped into the clinic, the friendly receptionist - Michael, greeted me with a warm smile and efficiently took care of the check-in process. The waiting area was clean, comfortable, and featured modern decor that helped create a relaxing atmosphere. It was clear that the staff at at CapCityDental value professionalism and patient comfort. Dr. George, the senior dental hygienist was a true expert in his field. He took the time to explain the entire cleaning process, making sure I was comfortable and informed every step of the way. Indeed, it did feel like a warm hug. Furthermore, his dental nurse Marilou was just a gem. Her gentle yet thorough approach put me at ease, and I could sense her commitment to delivering top-notch oral care. It's evident that CapCityDental has a team that's passionate about what they do. What truly sets CapCityDental apart was their dedication to personalized care and patient education. The hygienist nurse took the time to discuss my oral health habits and offered valuable insights on how to improve my routine. She answered all my questions patiently, showing a genuine interest in my oral health journey. This level of individualized attention left a lasting impression on me. In conclusion, my dental cleaning experience at CapCityDental was nothing short of outstanding. From the moment I walked in to the moment I left, I felt valued as a patient and confident in the care I received. The professionalism, expertise, and genuine concern for patient well-being were evident throughout. I wholeheartedly recommend this clinic to anyone seeking exceptional dental care in a welcoming and modern environment. I'm already looking forward to my next visit!

I had emergency root canal with George and team, and subsequent fillings and hygiene. The service and quality of finish was impeccable. Excellent communication and a focus on patient experience puts you at ease from the start. The after care is also excellent. Couldn’t recommend enough.

I have been so incredibly impressed with my experiences at CAP City Dental. George has been so professional, caring and clearly has a wealth of experience within dentistry. I have had a variety of treatments over many years with George and he is the only dentist I have ever come across that has been able to ease my anxiety surrounding dental treatment. The new Austin Friars premises is so well located in the heart of London and it’s actually a tranquil experience to attend appointments.100% recommended!

George and his team have been looking after me for almost 10 years now. When George took me on, my teeth were in a very sorry state. Since then George has worked very hard to improve the function, health and look of my teeth. Thanks to George I only require routine checkups and the odd piece of work now. Seeing George has made going to the dentist a breeze and a very happy social occasion! I can’t recommend George highly enough. The best dentist I’ve ever had. Very attentive and caring…with exquisite attention to detail; second to none. I should also mention that the new location in Austin Friars is a lovely calm oasis in the heart of the City. Modern health setting in a historic built environment. Thanks George.

I had a tooth that was causing me severe pain. I was feeling highly anxious because my previous dentist treated the wrong tooth. My childhood orthodontist left me with an occlusion and had taken out too many teeth. I was having trouble finding a dentist who would not only treat my gaps and cavities, but would also provide an unbiased opinion of my previous treatments. After appointments with other clinics, I found Cap City Dental. Dr Druttman, Marilou, Reni and Michael were welcoming. They helped me correct years of problems in just three visits over as many weeks. The team genuinely try to understand what you are trying to achieve. They don’t push you to have work done. I particularly appreciated Dr Druttman’s comprehensive reports in which he provided his professional opinion on what happened and what should happen moving forward. I highly recommend them not only because they make sure you feel comfortable, but provide you with enough information to ensure you can make an informed decision.
